Do we really care about GLOBAL WARMING ???

We people don't care about tomorrow, we don't care whats going to happen after 100 yrs, and in every warning given to us about G.W (Global Warming) by everyone around the planet says that if we don't start taking initiative to protect the world today it will affect us tomorrow. But the tomorrow will come after 100 yrs?? who among us or of this generation will be there after 100 yrs... to see what is going to happen at that point of time.
So, my advice to all the authorities and to all the people around the world who warns us about GW would be that if you want to awake this generation don't show whats going to happen after 50-60 yrs show us whats going to within 50-60 yrs.

Permalink Reply by Michelle on August 12, 2008 at 2:35pm: The only problem is the conservative christians in whom really believe that they don't have to take responsibility for their actions because of their faith that teaches them that Jesus died on the cross for their sins so now they don't have to take responsibility for themselves because Jesus will do that for them. Good grief, they missed many lessons Jesus taught about Karma. Such as Matthew 5:25-26 says, "Truly I say to you that you would never come out thence until you have paid the last cent." Jesus also says, "But I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy word thou shall be justified and by thy word thou shall be condemned." (Matthew 12:36-37) Jesus never said that if we accept him as our Lord & Savior that he will neutralize this law of karma, as is so often assumed by many conservative Christians. And the reason why I mention this is because, it is this ignorance that prevents people from uniting in brotherhood/sisterhood or simply as family.

I'm thankful where I live is becoming more accepting of wind power! Some are even soaking up the sun! LOL... These people have their own electrical units in their homes. BUT the electric companies in our area have not harnessed the sun yet anotherwords don't have the equipment to provide it in our homes. That's why some sun soakers LOL... put their own solar panel units in their homes. This is a good step in the right direction near me. This is going to sound really funny BUT my husband & I sometimes use candlelight at night. (We have candle covers so no burn accidents happen.) Candles come handy for more than just a quiet evening of fun. LOL...; ▶ Reply to This

Human beings are able to affect this world at this point pretty strongly. We could have really great impact on this world if we did have an all out nuclear war. So even though I don't think a nuclear war followed by the resulting global cooling will happen, we are quite capable of really messing this world up if we don't pay attention to what we are doing.

The future is not fixed, we must realize that we are subject to being responsible for our actions or inactions. That we should not be just passive actors in this world and expect God to take care of us. God allows us to make mistakes and to learn from our mistakes. It is best to not have to learn really hard lessons. Often things are only really acted on in this world when we have little choice as a result of reaching a crisis state. We are capable of doing amazing things in a crisis, but it is a lot easier to be proactive than to wait until one does not have much of a choice. The price is a lot higher when one waits to the last minute to take action.; ▶ Reply to This
