You are very wise in your assessment of the function of your ego. I wish I could answer your question from true knowing, tune into what level you're at spiritually and give you specific info as to what do do, but unfortunately I am not that developed where I can receive personal info for an individual. It is rare and glorious when I receive it for myself. So, I will answer your question intellectually, which is the opposite of what we're trying to do here. Oh, well!
It is my feeling that it is the condition of your ego at present that is impeding you from receiving communications. From all that I have experienced, observed and read, the ego has to be wired properly to receive. In simple terms, it has been protecting you with all kinds of programs of logic, fear, or physical world explanations. These have served you well to protect you, and all of us in the material world, but NOW THEY HAVE TO BE SHUT OFF, not only consciously but subconsciously. Any radio receiver can't receive if there's a lot of static. We all have a lot of static going on in our heads.
One of the best approaches to develop telepathic communication is to develop the still mind; meditation, yoga, etc..Two things I want to clarify first all is INTENT - you really have to want to do it and spend time at it, like when you first started courting your husband. I can tell you have this qualification down already.
Secondly, is the KARMIC FACTOR. I don't know if these things have come easily for me because of previous karmic credit or not. Maybe you are just starting off in this lifetime really paying attention to the spiritual realm. I don't know. If you are, so be it. Everybody has to start sometime. So let's do it; here are some suggestions.
In '95 I would take one day of each weekend and go off to some secluded place and attempt to meditate and completely still my mind and see what I would experience. My preparation consisted of slow relaxed deep breaths, not too deep where they were belabored. But mainly on each exhale, I would savor the body sensation of the muscles letting go of all tension. I had already practiced stilling my mind years earlier, so now it was this very exquisite body feeling that sent me off. The relaxation feelings soon turned into feelings like I was free-falling - very enjoyable. I just kept at it, going with it, SURRENDERing to it is a good word. Surrendering to my mysterious 'other side' that I still had so much to learn about. Very extraordinary things happened; visions, thoughts that I knew weren't generated by my conscious mind, and some very ecstatic out of body experiences. Too detailed to share here.
OK, back to techniques. A book I read when I was early 20's asked "Are you the master of your mind, or is your mind the master of you?" Have a watch nearby and see how long you can go without thinking one thought. Most of us can't make it past 5-10 seconds. But with daily effort, it becomes longer and longer. This is a good technique to start with; it was for me.
A blank mind is sometimes perceived as a bored mind. At first it may be so. Once the mind is fairly stilled, personal mantras are wonderful at aiming your consciousness in the right direction. There are hundreds of them. I won't go into them here. I recommend choosing ones that DO SOMETHING for you; inspire you, give you goose pimples, make you feel light or powerful, other-worldly. You'll know when you find them. Read, read, read.
I like making up my own based on what I'm wanting to achieve at the time. Some are bits of phrases from mantras that I've learned. When I feel that wonderful extra energy chi-rush I know they're doing something for me.
OK. How to blank your mind. Technique #1: Close your eyes, relax, envision a circle, any size circle, but you've got to really see it. Pick one of those protozoa looking spots that your retina generates. Now slice it in half, Now envision only that half. Keep repeating this until you've gotten only 1/16th of circle left. Now instead o
My wife and I attended a party several years ago.....good friends......laughter........and then we played a game where your mate asked you a question (Trivial Pursuit). A funny thing happened. Each time my wife asked me a question.....that I had no clue what the answer was....I would just blurt out the right answer. This happened every time....with every question she asked me.
We talked about it later and came to the conclusion that as she asked the question she looked at the answer and I got the picture. Now when I ask her for someone's name I just visualize their face and she blurts out their name, I get the picture of people she is visualizing as well. It's the picture you project that can be seen by someone in tune.
Perhaps you can ask your husband to play with you by asking you something you can't know and have him look at the answer,,,,and think of it in his mind....then visa-versa.
This gets better with practice. Patti and I just need to begin a question and the other blurts out the answer...this freaks some friends out...it's neat.....To be this close...It's not magic....It's natural for human kind to communicate like this.....but If we are to quick to speak ....with too many words...sometimes this gets in the way.
Haven't you looked up and found yourself looking directly into the eyes of someone looking at you. This happens to me so often....it's spooky....how you sence this automatically.
It is my personal belief that spirits and guides speak to us through our experiences and present us with the answers in the form of happenings. It is a misconception that they 'speak' in a language that we communicate in with each other... it is a language of Love, Emotions, Senses and Observations.

If you ask a question to your Spirit Guides... watch the occurrences surrounding and attracting towards you. You may even find that events that happened in the 'past' are an answer to the question- as TIME plays no part in revealing answers such as these...

Replying to Kunga's last post, the reason why all that happens is because the mind is trying to explain the intangible. You probably already knew that. But the best type of connection is the confrotation of ones souls. Where we willingly accept anothers place in our life, avoiding coincidence, and bursting into some creative thought process. Magic comes to hand and it sounds like your social practice. I really dig your social practice tho. I shall try to partake in it more when I can remember in my daily life. Because I have that same problem of never getting out what im thinking if I can even get it out at all sometimes me being a shy Taurus and all. What I think may be going on is when you quiet your mind and feel, you connect with a multitude of frequencies and levels of thought. Some may come from your higher self while other spoken words not really thought of but allowed to flow could be intercepted by beings of light that only trying to help can raise their vibrational frequency enough to alter your words for many reasons some being helping the reciever understand clearer or helping you not say something you really didn't mean to say all the way to helping you learn something about yourself.

Hello. My name is Chris. I am new to SuperLife and have been enjoying your forum. Thanks. I wanted to comment specifically on the talk regarding the male and female aspects of ourselves. Carl Jung often speaks of these two potentials, making comparisons always to the different representations of this dynamic across the globe and back through time, for example, the ying and the yang. In the context of archetypes it seems that either one can surface or be dominant at different times depending on what is lacking or what is needed. This shift or this archetypal activity is always trying to tell us something and always in the context of helping us maintain our connection to our deeper selves, our Unconscious. When I look at the world my optimistic side is seeing a global shift where people are becoming more aware of the affect we have on each other and on the earth. War is still prevalent, but far less acceptable. Whether out of necessity or not, renewable energy and approaches to efficient living are increasing exponentially. The world is cooperating towards these physical, earthly, felt levels of existence. Our thinking aspect has not necessarily slowed down; technology is always advancing exponentially, but a great deal of this advancement is towards renewable energy, ways to live and do business more efficiently etc. So I wonder if the female aspect of ourselves is not beginning to take on a more dominant role. If we examined the dreams and symbols emerging around the world as the Jung school would, I wonder if would not see the female archetype showing up more and more often over the last 50 years or whatever. All of this would be in keeping with the three stages of life as put forth by I don't remember who. First: we are a part of the womb (earth), inseparable from it, it is I and I am it. Second: we go through a long intense journey of self identification whereby we attempt to understand ourselves as separate entities from our mother (earth). This is characterized less by feeling but much more by thinking. This stage is crude but necessary for our survival in the physical realm. On the global scale it can be thought of as an intense focus on science and industrialization. Third: Eventually our selves begin to migrate naturally back to the truth which is that we are one with each other and with the earth. These three stages are seen in each individual and on the global level as consciousness calls us back. Perhaps we are seeing that happen, perhaps we are moving back towards unity. We have a long way to go, but perhaps we are trending that way. Much love.

I love the story about driving in the cold. I remember a little while back a friend and I were going to this place of nature in the suburbs that I live in called De Luz in the hills surrounding the valley we live in. By the time we arrived the wind had picked up and a cold chill swept through the mountians. We had not prepared for the weather for we had been in the hills all day and were finally treking to our favorite spot by the creek. As beautiful as the scenery was it was getting dark so we didn't really want to go on a hike or anything. This is a time in my life where i had been doing much research on my spiritual path so i had some sense of calling energy into my body, chakras, and meditation. We sat at the top of huge rocks in the hills above the creek and my friend(who is kind of into the same stuff but a little less educated in it) started to meditate. I layed on the bigger rock below my friend who was to the right of me on a flat rock sitting in the classic meditative position. I remember calling on the earths energy. To send warmth to me up through my spine and into my chakras. imagining the energy being sent. In a sense, even though i was cold, i had quited my mind but knowing i could become warm and the rock below me really felt like it was getting me warm. I also started a little bit of meditative affirmation. Completely injoying the experience i was interrupted by my friend asking us to leave because he was getting really cold. I was confused. I asked him, you didn't call on the earth for warmth? and he basically replied, naw too much mind rackets. I totally voided the situation until now. Really taking what the experience held for me because more times than not i find myself stuck in my own head. haha. Sometimes i forget that its always been there i just need to stay aware. Thanks for triggering my old muscle memory =]

It was enlightening to read your comment Jordan. I will have to remember next time to ask for energy from those natural things around me. I had never been introduced to that way of thinking. I had only been taught to evoke 'chi', and I discovered very young that I was able to make it flow rather easily. Different paths to the same goal. But I like the idea you reminded me of - interacting with natural elements. A while back, I had read a book on Chi-Gong that instructed to pull the energy in from the full moon. That's a nice giddy feeling when you can make it work. Chi-Man

Hi, Jordan! I have always enjoyed sitting near the fast moving bodies of water. In America (USA) there is a fast moving river called, "The Great Falls." When I lived in South Dakota, I would sit to on the cliff right above the waterfall. I would sit there for hours sitting listening to the rush sounds of the water going over the cliff below me (waterfall) during daylight hours. I loved the sprays of water that would gently hit my face. I always felt the need to take off my shoes whenever I visited the great falls. There was something so relaxing, so peaceful about sitting near the great falls. I wouldn't recommend anyone else getting as close as I did since the great falls has taken many lives of uncareful people. I can't explain this very well, but I've always felt very close very connected to fast moving water. I can hear her when she speaks. I can hear her when she says "Danger", so I move; I don't come close to her. But when she feels it is safe when I come to visit, she will keep me safe. When I haven't visited her in a while & come for a visit, she sends me a heart message letting me know she misses me & I feel it is as much as I've missed her.
When I go visit the great falls, I feel like a little child searching for her momma & when she sees her momma she runs as quickly to her as she can to hear the sound of her mother's voice, to smells her mother's sweet perfume, to be warmed by her father (sunlight) in a big hug. And as the little girl sits there she listens to everything her mother tells her until she falls asleep while sitting between her mother & father. When I wake up, I don't remember what was said but I feel so peaceful, so unconditionally loved, valued, appreciated, & safe.
I felt the need to say thank you for bringing back to me this wonderful memory to me when you mentioned about sitting on a cliff near a river, Jordan.

Thanks Chi-man. I'm glad you were inspired by it. I think it might be the same as envoking chi but a little more personal with the surroundings due to the mental picture of everything. I should try to do that chi on a full moon technique it sounds radical. I did chi late on night it was on PBS haha. I was bored and gave it a try and was blown away by the results I immediately recieved.
Hi Michelle! Your welcome! Glad we share some common ground here. I love your story it's so beautifully written. It really struck a chord with me because I too get that feeling whenever I go to my place by the creek I could just never put my finger on that feeling. You really make me want to go again knowing how you explained it and the possibilites of how I can connect with the environment. I love creeks, rivers, and running waters. We are so connected with them it isn't even funny. Because our life, each fleeting moment of it, is like the water and we are flowing with it. Like a leaf that falls off a tree and blows in the wind. We are in a nexus with the currents of this world.

Hi, Chi-man! The problem is not so much in meditating. The problem is falling asleep while meditating. I will try the techniques you suggested to see if they pertain to me. I cannot practice Samyama if I do not stop falling asleep. In my first meditation, I got a message though that sounded like, "Stop doing Mantras." I couldn't tell what the message was for sure because I was waking from a relaxed sleeping stage. I think some of my past hurts were released a little more last night. My husband, Jim is training to be an EFT Life Coach. I've been getting messages. Messages would "pop" into my mind. Joy! LOL...
Again I will try your circle technique. Lots of Loving Hugs.
